An investigation led to the arrest of
a Ridgewood man on January 9th in connection with several
Ridgewood and Glendale robberies. According to the the Queens
District Attorney's office, the man allegedly broke into apartments
in the neighborhoods on three separate occasions. The first incident
took place on Dec. 17th when a resident arrived home
expecting a package that UPS confirmed delivering. The 27-inch
computer monitor was missing and the victim reported it stolen two
days later after not finding the package. Based on information during
the course of the investigation, police determined that the thief had
stolen the monitor and brought it to a pawshop in Bushwick where he
sold it for cash. The police were able to recover the monitor and
return it to the victim.
Property theft has been on the rise,
due to the amount of packages people are ordering through the
internet. If no one is home, the delivery service will usually leave
the package at the front door. It has become a growing concern for
homeowners to ensure their packages safety from outside threats.
Companies like Safehouse Locksmith, a Ridgewood NY locksmith, have
seen an increasing interest from customers in improving their home
security.
